Ian has over three decades of experience in private equity and investment management. Ian is a founder partner of Circularity Capital, is involved in all aspects of investment management, and chairs the Investment Committee. Ian also represents the firm on the boards of multiple portfolio companies, adding strategic insight and governance developed over three decades of experience in private equity and investment management. Prior to Circularity Capital, Ian spent 25 years at 3i during which time he was named Chief Investment Officer with the responsibility for managing £10 billion of assets across Europe. Ian was also a member of the 3i Group Executive Committee, Investment Committee, Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee. Ian left 3i in 2012 to set up the UK Green Investment Bank and was the Chief Investment Officer through 2014.
Stephen is Ombu’s founder and CEO, and also founded Swarraton Partners where he is Managing Partner. In addition, he is on the board of the Royal Society Enterprise Fund. Previously, Stephen was at IP Group plc where he was Director of Business Development and on the main board, and gained experience in venture capital working at Columbia University Science and Technology Ventures in New York and Bridgepoint Capital in London. Stephen is a graduate of Oxford University and Columbia University.
John Malliris is based in Hong Kong and has 19 years of experience in the finance industry across private equity, special situation and credit investing in SE Asia/Australasia.
Prior to ADV, John was an Executive Director with JPMorgan’s Asia Special Situations Group where he led a team responsible for deal origination, execution and asset management for SE Asian and Australasian investments. Previously, John was a Director with Asia Mezzanine Capital where he worked on primary mezzanine transactions and was also an Assistant Director with Prudential Asia Infrastructure Investors where he covered opportunities in telecom, power and transportation sectors. John began his career as an investment banking analyst with Peregrine Capital.
John has an MBA in Financial Management from MIT Sloan School of Management and holds a Masters in Medical Science as well as a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University. He is fluent in English and Greek.
Andrew Lane co-founded Unilever Ventures in 2002. As a member of their Investment Committee, he led their investments in Life Sciences and Personal Care before retiring from Unilever in December 2017. During his time at Unilever Ventures he acted as interim CEO of several of their portfolio companies.
Andrew also sits on the Boards of Arecor, VHsquared and IB Ventures Ltd. He was on the Board of BAC, CyDen and Pharmakodex before Unilever Ventures successful exit from these companies.
Andrew joined Unilever as a marketing trainee in 1985 after studying Biochemistry at Cambridge University, qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and has a general management, marketing and finance background.
Brad Landes has over 37 years of financial markets experience and prior to co-founding ADV, Brad was Managing Director and Deputy Head of Asia for Mount Kellett Capital. Previously, he was also with JPMorgan, Citigroup and Bear Stearns in Asia. Brad has an MBA in Finance and International Business from The Stern Graduate School of Business, New York University. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston University.
